Tic Tac 2012 Advert
Sony Bravia Advert
Nokia N8 Advert
This is quite a long advert however it is very effective because although they don't show the phone until the end, the whole thing is shot on the phone. This advert is unique because it is apparently the smallest stop motion animation in the world, this makes it original. We want our advert to be original and imaginative likewise to this. The music works very well with the animation because it reflects the small objects used to create it. I think if the advert was shorter it would have been more successful because it takes a long time for it to get to what its actually advertiseing. The Nokia N8 is aimed at 18 to 29 year olds because they want it to be viewed as new technology. The advert supports this because they are highlighting how good the camera is by shooting a stop motion animation on it. We want our advert to support its slogan, see the colour taste the joy by making it as colourful as possible. It is a good use of advertising because it shows how stop motion animation is easily shot on any device such as a mobile phone. Another advert similar to this is 'Gulp', also shot on a mobile phone however this advert is the biggest stop motion animation in the world.
Evian Advert
I like this advert because it is very original and I have never seen it before. This is why it has become a viral video on youtube and has had over 1 million views. It is seen through the video that it must have been fun shooting the advet this shines through and has a positive effect on the audience. The target audience for Evian is 18 to 44, the advert is appropriate for the audience because they use a range of different actors and actresses of different ages. Also because the advert is so imaginative it has become viral and therefore the brand is more well known and people are more likely to buy it.
This advert sprung off into an interactive music video because it was so popular which shows that stop motion animation can be put into different forms.
Cinema Advertising
Before the actual film is played in a cinema, adverts are played because it is a good way of advertising a product. I looked on the Digital Cinema Media website to see why adverts are screened before a film and why it is such an effective way of advertising. This advert sprung off into an interactive music video because it was so popular which shows that stop motion animation can be put into different forms.
Cinema Advertising
This is a section from their website-
Appeal and motivation to purchase increased
- It’s proven that cinema has a deep message out take because of high attention and improved ability to remember detail.
- Cinema advertising has 8 times greater impact than tv.
Stop Motion in video games
I looked into stop motion animation in different formats and I found that some video games include stop motion animation. I looked at a website where I found a new stop motion aniamtion video game, click on the picture below to see the website I looked at-
The game is called Cletus Clay and it is a claymation completely filmed using stop motion animation. There is a short video on the website that I watched about the making of this video game and it taught me that stop motion can look more effective on a video game because the animated scenery and characters look original and can match a personal design rather than creating something digital. Also claymation can enhance the 3D expereince when played on the computer or TV.
Stop Motion Animation in Music Videos
Stop motion animation is used in many different types of media such as music videos, one music video created using stop motion animation is, In your Arms by Kinna Grannis. I think this music video is very interesting because it is original and you appreciate the amount of work that has to be done in order to complete it. The animation is very smooth and the lighting stays the same throughout the animation. This shows how stop motion can be used in many different formats and styles it can also be used in many different genres. This advert is made out of jelly beans and took an extremely long time to make and we would like to use a similar technique on our film. Although it won't be as professional because we don't have as much time and it was made by experienced people.
